US Vice President Kamala Harris has reached an impressive milestone on her path to the Democratic presidential nomination.

The same one that will be used to face former President Donald Trump in the elections in November of this year.

Well, it has been reported that Harris has managed to raise almost 47 million dollars in just seven hours after receiving Joe Biden’s endorsement as his successor.

According to the platform’s reports, the overwhelming majority of these donations come from small contributors enthusiastic about supporting Harris in her aspirations.

Since officially launching its campaign, ActBlue reported that as of 9:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday, July 21, supporters had generated $46.7 million.

This marked it as the highest fundraising day of the 2024 electoral cycle, according to the ‘EFE’ agency.

The dramatic rise in contributions, mostly from small donors, underscores the fervent support for Harris as the next Democratic presidential nominee.

ActBlue noted that in the first five hours of Harris’ campaign, the platform had already secured more than $27.5 million.

Which was seen as an early indicator of the significant momentum his candidacy has gained among the Democratic base.

The New York Times reported that enthusiasm for Harris spread quickly among small donors.

Citing the example of David Hogg, a gun control activist and survivor of the 2018 Parkland shooting.

Hogg launched a social media challenge that quickly raised $200,000 in support of Harris’s candidacy, highlighting the immediate impact.

Biden’s decision to withdraw from the presidential race comes after weeks of pressure from within his party.

Especially after a televised debate with former President Donald Trump that many considered disastrous for Biden.

Despite persistent calls for him to reconsider his candidacy, Biden announced his decision last Sunday.

Clearing the way for Harris to assume the role of Democratic front-runner for the general election, noted ‘The New York Times‘.

In response to Biden’s announcement, numerous Democratic leaders and figures have expressed support for Harris as the party’s likely nominee for November.

Kamala Harris, meanwhile, has confirmed that she will formally file her candidacy, cementing her position as a central figure in this year’s presidential race.
