Kristi Noem Asked Sheinbaum to Reinforce Border

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem revealed details of her meeting with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

During the nearly two-hour conversation, Noem asked Sheinbaum to reinforce Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala.

The U.S. official also requested the sharing of biometric data with American authorities.

“I gave her a list of things President Trump would love to see,” Noem told Fox News.

Sheinbaum and Noem: Dialogue on Data and Border Security

According to Noem, Sheinbaum said she is open to discussions about data sharing, while acknowledging it could be controversial in Mexico.

The Mexican president has already deployed 10,000 members of the National Guard to the northern border.

Now, Noem is also calling for tighter security along the Guatemalan border.

Another key topic was the need to scan air shipments and conduct joint criminal background checks with Mexico.

“She is making a good faith effort. But President Trump is clear. He doesn’t want talk. He wants to see action,” Kristi Noem stated.

Trump has threatened to impose 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods if fentanyl trafficking is not curbed.

In response, Sheinbaum expressed willingness to coordinate and cooperate.

However, she emphasized that there is and will be no subordination from Mexico.
