The name of Leticia Calderón once again trended on social media after a video falsely claimed that the actress had died at age 57.

The clip — which appeared to show Galilea Montijo announcing Calderón’s death — caused confusion and concern among fans of the Esmeralda and Empire of Lies star.

The situation was clarified during the October 27 broadcast of Hoy, where Montijo categorically denied the information and denounced the manipulation of the footage.

“Be careful and don’t believe every video you see on certain social networks. There’s one where it literally looks like I’m saying that Leticia Calderón had died,” the host explained on-air.

The TV presenter confirmed that the video was entirely fake and that even Calderón’s family had been alarmed by its content.

“Leticia Calderón’s family was obviously terrified — ‘But Galilea said it!’ they told me. You can clearly tell there’s something off about that video,” Montijo commented.

The clip, which quickly went viral on TikTok and Facebook, had been edited using footage from the show and a manipulated audio track to make it seem as though Montijo had confirmed Calderón’s death.

Montijo urged the public to be more critical of online content and condemned the creation of fake news aimed purely at going viral.

Leticia Calderón Reappears and Sends a Message

Hours after the rumor spread, Leticia Calderón reappeared on social media to reassure her followers and put an end to the confusion.

On her Instagram account, the actress shared a smiling photo along with a short, upbeat message:
“I’m alive and kicking. Have an excellent week!”

The post quickly gathered thousands of supportive and affectionate comments from fans who celebrated seeing her in good spirits.

“You look beautiful, Lety,” “You gave us a scare,” and “Thank God you’re okay,” were some of the messages she received from admirers.

Celebrities Warn Against Fake News

The incident has reignited concern about the spread of fake news on social media — especially stories targeting public figures.

Galilea Montijo closed her statement by sending greetings to her colleague and a call for digital responsibility.

“Lety is fine — she already called the production team. We’re sending you kisses, Lety. Everything’s fine, but come on, guys, don’t make up those videos,” the host said.

With their responses, both Montijo and Calderón made it clear that the actress is in good health and that the supposed report of her death was nothing more than a Leticia Calderón fake death rumor created through digital manipulation.
