In an unprecedented event, the security of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum was breached by an individual claiming to be a worker from the Judiciary.

The incident took place at a hotel in Tepic, Nayarit, and was captured in a video that quickly circulated on social media.

The man managed to enter the same elevator as López Obrador and Sheinbaum during their tour in Nayarit this past weekend.

This marked the last official visit before Sheinbaum officially assumes the presidency on October 1.

In the footage, the individual approaches Sheinbaum and hands her a document, allegedly written by employees of the Judiciary.

The letter expressed concern about how the judicial reform might affect the workers’ conditions.

Sheinbaum reassured the man that the rumors about labor impacts were false and that the workers had nothing to worry about.

«It’s a lie,» Sheinbaum said to calm the individual.

At that point, President López Obrador intervened, firmly stating that the judicial reform would not harm workers.

«Stop… don’t defend the corrupt,» the president said, visibly irritated by the encounter.

His response reflected the tension in the moment, while the man continued to press his concerns, as reported by Aristegui Noticias.

As they exited the elevator, López Obrador gently took Sheinbaum by the arm and guided her away, appearing to protect her from any further confrontation.

AMLO Leads Sheinbaum Away

The president’s security team, led by Daniel Asaf, acted swiftly, blocking the man and ensuring he couldn’t proceed.

«Don’t push me, you’re blocking my way,» the man protested, visibly frustrated by the security’s intervention.

This event has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users discussing the security of both the president and the president-elect.
