Lupillo Rivera surprised fans with the release of his book Tragos Amargos, where he shares revelations about the tragic death of his sister Jenni Rivera.

The Diva of Banda passed away on December 9, 2012, in a plane crash at the age of 43, when the jet she was traveling in crashed in Nuevo León.

Although the event was officially ruled an accident, Lupillo claims that “it could have been” an attack.

The singer explained that he had not spoken about the subject before out of fear for his family’s safety.

“I didn’t want to do it for protection”

Known as the “Toro del Corrido,” he said he now feels it is time to speak out and share what he experienced.

The singer recalled his final talk with his sister before the accident.

According to his account, Jenni apologized for allegedly trying to sabotage his career along with their brother Juan Rivera.

“It was my father Don Pedro who told me about that plot,” Lupillo revealed in an interview with Buena Vibra.

“I never held any resentment toward her,” he said about Chiquis Rivera’s mother.

The release of the Lupillo Rivera’s book has sparked curiosity about the reaction of the rest of the Rivera family.

However, Lupillo confessed with a laugh: “I haven’t received any calls from anyone.”

The singer clarified that his intention is not to hurt anyone: “I don’t want to harm anyone, I don’t want to damage anyone’s image, this is what I lived.”

His statements could open new family tensions amid the already complicated relationships between the siblings.

Confessions About His Personal Life

In Tragos Amargos, Lupillo also delves into episodes from his love life.

Among them is his romance with singer Belinda, with whom he had a much-talked-about relationship

“She met my children,” he revealed, recalling that the 17-year age difference drew heavy criticism.

“I was very criticized for liking a woman, for falling in love with a woman,” he told Buena Vibra.

“I Fell in Love Instantly”

Lupillo Rivera defended that chapter of his life, insisting that his feelings were genuine.

“I fell in love instantly,” he said of his relationship with the Mexican singer.

The artist emphasized that his book seeks to show unknown sides of his personal and professional life.

With this publication, the former La Casa de los Famosos contestant hopes to heal wounds and share his version of the events that marked his family, according to ‘People en Español‘.
