Officer Truman Fitzgerald, spokesperson for the Birmingham Police, stated that the first officers on the scene found three individuals with fatal injuries on the sidewalk.

Two men and a woman were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth man, who was also shot, later died at the hospital.

«Detectives believe the shooting was not random and stemmed from an isolated incident in which several victims were caught in the crossfire,» said Fitzgerald.
