In an effort to counter the rhetoric of hate in U.S. politics, something significant is happening.
A group of twenty Mexican artists, including Alejandro Fernández, Paquita la del Barrio, and the band Maná, have called on the Latino community to vote in the November 5 presidential elections against former President Donald Trump.
The former president is seeking to return to the White House.
Under the campaign slogan «#YaEstuvo» («Enough is Enough»), the performers have united to denounce the racism and xenophobia that, according to them, have characterized Trump’s campaign.

“Today, we stand in solidarity with our Latino brothers and sisters.
Our support must be louder and stronger than the hate of Trump’s campaign,” they stated in a press release.
The initiative, which also has the backing of artists like Los Tigres del Norte, Edén Muñoz, Ximena Sariñana, and Spanish singer Natalia Jiménez, criticizes those who “blame the country’s problems on the most vulnerable,” describing it as an “old and tired political trick.”
In a promotional video, the artists are seen repeating the campaign’s slogan and recalling Trump’s racist remarks toward Mexican migrants, accusing them of “bringing drugs and crime.”
The Clip Highlights Incidents of Racist Attacks Against Latinos
The video also features footage of racist attacks against Latinos in the U.S., including the case of Mahud Villalaz, a Peruvian man who was attacked with acid in Milwaukee.
“To those spreading a message of hate, we say that we will choose a better path, one that raises our voices in favor of doing what’s right and respecting human dignity,” the Mexican artists against Trump assert.
At the end of the video, they issue a call to action, urging everyone to participate in the upcoming elections and exercise their right to vote to bring about positive change in society.
The campaign seeks to unite the Latino community at a crucial moment for the future of the country.
