Michelle Obama would defeat Donald Trump in a hypothetical matchup, according to a new poll.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted between July 1 and 2, found that 50% of registered voters would vote for Obama.
In comparison, only 39% would vote for Trump if the presidential election were held today.
Eleven percent of respondents said they would not vote, would vote for another candidate, or were unsure.
Michelle Obama And Other Potential Democratic Candidates

Other potential Democratic candidates, such as Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Andy Beshear, and J.B. Pritzker, would not have the same luck.
This group of potential contenders would receive fewer votes than Trump.
Fifty-five percent of registered voters also have a favorable attitude toward Obama.
In comparison, only 42% have a favorable attitude toward Trump.
The poll was conducted among 892 registered voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
The results come as several Democrats express concerns about President Joe Biden.

This follows a shaky debate against Trump last week that highlighted his age, 81 years old.
Among the 1,070 U.S. residents surveyed, 56% agree that Biden should withdraw from the race after the debate.
