Mexico’s representative, Fátima Bosch, experienced a tense and humiliating moment during the Miss Grand International 2025 pageant preparations in Thailand after the event’s organizer, Nawat Itsaragrisil, publicly called her “stupid” in front of the other contestants.
The incident occurred during the sash ceremony — one of the most important events leading up to the final — and quickly caused outrage online and a wave of support for the Mexican model.
According to witnesses, the conflict began when Nawat harshly questioned Bosch for not posting promotional content about Thailand — the host country — on her social media accounts.
The 25-year-old contestant appeared confused and said she didn’t fully understand the question, which angered the organizer. He insisted that she must follow his instructions to the letter.
“You’re Too Stupid to Be a Queen”

Bosch tried to explain that it was a misunderstanding and reaffirmed her willingness to cooperate. “Yes, of course, yes,” she replied politely.
However, Nawat escalated the argument, linking it to an old dispute with Miss Mexico’s national director. That’s when he launched the insult that shocked the room:

The remark drew a heavy silence in the hall. Visibly shaken, Fátima Bosch raised her voice to defend her dignity before leaving the stage.
International Support for Fátima Bosch
The reaction was immediate. When Nawat ordered security guards to escort Bosch out, several contestants stood in solidarity and protested against his behavior.
Videos of the incident spread rapidly on social media, fueling a global debate about disrespect and mistreatment in international beauty pageants.
Hours later, Fátima Bosch spoke to local media, standing firm in her response: “I will not allow insults from Nawat Itsaragrisil just because he has problems with my organization,” she said.
She added that she has always fulfilled her duties with professionalism and that the aggression was unjustified. “I try to do my best, to be kind. I don’t bother anyone — yet he attacked me with all sorts of words,” she explained.
Miss Universe Mexico Condemns the Attack
The Miss Universe Mexico organization issued an official statement supporting the contestant from Tabasco, calling the incident “unacceptable.”
“No woman, in any setting, deserves to be insulted or humiliated,” the organization posted on social media, emphasizing that dignity and respect must remain core values in any competition.
Fátima Bosch closed her message with a powerful statement: “We are empowered women, and this is a platform to raise our voices. No one can silence us.”
The episode has exposed growing internal tension within Miss Grand International and ignited a worldwide conversation about the limits of power among pageant organizers versus the respect and integrity owed to contestants, according to Telediario.
