Noelia Voigt, who was crowned Miss USA in November 2023, made a brave personal decision by announcing her resignation from the prestigious title.
In an official statement, Voigt, a Venezuelan-American from Utah, explained that her decision is based on the need to prioritize her mental health.
«My journey as Miss USA has been incredibly meaningful, representing Utah with pride, and later the USA at Miss Universe,» she noted.
«Sadly, I have made the very tough decision to resign from the title of Miss USA 2023,» the beauty queen continued.

The news, which comes just a few months after she was crowned, has generated surprise and reflection on the pressures and expectations that public figures face.
«Deep down, I know this is just the beginning of a new chapter for me, and my hope is that I continue to inspire others to stay steadfast.»
Voigt succeeded North Carolina’s Morgan Romano, and her victory was historic, making her the first Venezuelan-American woman to win the coveted Miss USA title.
«[P]rioritize your mental health, advocate for yourself and others by using your voice, and never be afraid of what the future holds, even if it feels uncertain,» she stressed.

In her statement, Voigt highlighted her pride in her philanthropic work, especially her collaboration with Smile Train.
«Every time someone asked me what my favorite part of being Miss USA was, I would always share with them how much I loved getting to work with Smile Train,» she stated.

According to CNN, the statement indicated that she understood Voigt’s decision to prioritize herself at this crucial moment.
The organization is now in the process of reviewing plans for the transition of responsibilities and will soon announce the new Miss USA.
Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii, who was named first runner-up after Voigt’s victory, emerges as a possible successor for the title.
