U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth firmly defended the effectiveness of the bombings carried out on three Iranian nuclear facilities.

He asserted that there are no intelligence reports indicating that enriched uranium stored at those sites was evacuated before the attack.

The targeted sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

The operation—code-named Midnight Hammer—targeted Iran’s nuclear complexes at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

According to Hegseth, the offensive “undoubtedly destroyed” key infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program. In a press conference, he was categorical: “I have no knowledge of any report stating that things weren’t where they were supposed to be or that they had been moved.”

The statements aim to counter doubts raised by a preliminary report.

It estimated the strike would only delay Iran’s nuclear program by six months.

Both Hegseth and President Donald Trump have rejected that evaluation, insisting the damage was far more severe.

As reported by EFE.

Trump: “They’ve Lost Access to Their Uranium”

The U.S. president suggested that Tehran may have lost access to its 60% enriched uranium stockpiles, adding: “The last thing Iran wants right now is to enrich anything—they want to recover.”

These remarks were made during Trump’s participation at the NATO summit in The Hague.

The Secretary of Defense accused the media of “downplaying” the achievements of the nuclear attack on Iran and of harboring political bias against Trump.

He added that the latest intelligence, obtained from “historically reliable sources,” shows that Iran’s facilities will need to be completely rebuilt, a process that will take years.

Iran Responds and International Climate Tenses

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei dismissed the airstrikes, declaring they “achieved nothing significant.”

Hegseth replied that Tehran “will have to say many things to shore up its internal image,” but reiterated that the Pentagon continues to monitor the situation and is “prepared to act” if necessary.

As the international community awaits further details, the Pentagon insists that the nuclear strike on Iran was one of the most complex and successful operations in U.S. military history.
