DANGER BEHIND THE WHEEL! A tragic accident occurred in north Columbus on Thursday night.
When Benjamin Weiss, a 23-year-old, lost his life after being struck by two vehicles in the Clintonville neighborhood.
The Columbus Police reported that the incident happened at 9:24 p.m. while Weiss was crossing North High Street.
Right at the intersection with Olentangy Street, using a crosswalk, as reported by NBC4 news portal.
PEDESTRIAN DIES AFTER BEING STRUCK IN CLINTONVILLE, OHIO

According to police reports, Weiss was first hit by a dark-colored vehicle turning left to head south from Olentangy Street onto North High Street.
This first collision knocked him to the ground, and unfortunately, a second vehicle traveling on North High Street then ran over him again.

The driver of the second vehicle stayed at the accident scene, while the dark-colored vehicle fled.
Immediately after the incident, Weiss was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries that same night.

The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit arrived at the scene to start the corresponding inquiries, which are still ongoing.
Additionally, the police are calling on the community to help locate the driver of the dark-colored vehicle, NBC4 reported.
