Throughout his extensive career, he took on various roles — from filmmaker and drama director to cameraman and critic.

In 1960, he pursued Dramatic Art and later advanced his education in Theater and Audiovisuals in France in 1968.

He taught theater at the National School of Performing Arts, Fine Arts, Santo Domingo, leaving an enduring impression.

Besides teaching, Pericles Mejía engaged in the production and direction of several films and short films.

He served as a production assistant for William Friedkin’s «Sorcerer» in 1976 and later became the director of the Audiovisual Department at the Museum of Natural History in 1978.
