In addition to Jenni, Arturo Rivera, Mario Macías, Jacob Yebale Aguilar, Jorge Armando Sánchez, Miguel Pérez and Alessandro Torres also perished in the crash.

Pepe Garza remembers Jenni Rivera

One of Jenni Rivera’s closest friends was music producer Pepe Garza.

In an interview with Telemundo, the composer recalled that La Diva de la Banda always consulted with him before taking risks, like recording with mariachi.

«She asked for opinions on songs, and I suggested she record ‘No llega el Olvido,'» he said.

Pepe revealed that he is very pleased that this song has become one of her most enduring hits.

During this conversation, Pepe Garza commented Jenni Rivera had many qualities that many artists today no longer possess.

«And I don’t complain because I know this is a business,» said Elisa Beristáin’s husband, who still had much to share about Jenni.

He said that the singer was embarrassed to tell him what was happening at that moment, so the producer asked her not to tell him anything.

And when no one saw it coming, he showed a piece of the plane in which Jenni Rivera was traveling. A very sad memory indeed.

The accident was the result of a sequence of events

Almost a year after the accident that killed Jenni Rivera, details of the investigation were shared.

According to a preliminary report, the crash occurred due to a sequence of events.

It was also said that the high degree of destruction of the plane did not allow them to determine exactly what caused the crash.

Investigators ruled out that weather conditions contributed to the accident or that the plane caught fire in the air.

Could Jenni Rivera have survived?

According to Telemundo, the crew didn’t report a failure or emergency.

«The available technical information did not allow determining the airworthiness of the equipment.» It is worth noting that the plane was 43 years old.

Unfortunately, no information could be retrieved, even though there was a flight data recorder. Neither that nor a voice recorder was found.

One of the pilots was almost 80 years old, while the other was only 21 years old.
