On Thursday jurors listened to a recording of Trump on the phone with then-lawyer Michael Cohen.

The discussion revolved around a plan to purchase the silence of a Playboy model who claimed she had an affair with the former president.

A visibly irritated Trump leaned forward at the defense table.

Michael Cohen made a secret recording of Trump

The jurors appeared captivated as prosecutors played the recording from September 2016.

This call was secretly recorded by lawyer Michael Cohen while informing Trump about a plan to buy Karen McDougal’s story regarding their extramarital relationship.

Although the recording was revealed years ago, it is perhaps the most vivid evidence presented to the jurors so far linking Trump to the payments at the center of his criminal trial in Manhattan.

It was played after hours of testimony from a lawyer who negotiated the deal to buy McDougal’s silence and admitted to being astonished that his efforts might have contributed to Trump’s victory in 2016.

‘What do we got to pay for this?’

At one point in the recording of Trump, Cohen revealed he had spoken with Trump Organization’s then-chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, about «how to set the whole thing up with funding.»

To which Trump is heard responding: «What do we got to pay for this? One-fifty?»

Trump is heard suggesting the payment be made in cash, prompting Cohen to object several times saying «No.»

Then Trump is heard saying “check” before the recording cuts off, according to The Associated Press.
