Elijah Vue disappeared on February 20, after his mother left him in the care of her boyfriend, KARE11 reported.
Despite intense search efforts involving law enforcement and local volunteers, the child was not found.
Vue’s mother and her partner are currently facing charges of child neglect, adding another layer of concern and controversy to the case.
Elijah’s fourth birthday was celebrated in his absence on August 25 during a community event at Kiwanis Park in Appleton, a painful reminder for the community of the missing child.
