A pilot and two passengers were onboard the plane, destined for the city of Yakutat, about 442 kilometers northwest of Juneau.

However, the plane did not arrive at its scheduled time, raising alarm among authorities and the passengers’ families.

The response to the disappearance has been swift and coordinated. Authorities are updating the public on the case through social media.

How Is the Search For the Missing Plane Progressing?

The Coast Guard, along with Alaska state police and the Alaska Rescue Coordination Center, have joined efforts to conduct a thorough search.

In addition to rescue teams, helicopters and boats are being used to track the vast and often treacherous region of southeast Alaska.

«Continued searches for the overdue aircraft yielded no results today. Searches will resume tomorrow morning,» the Coast Guard indicated.

«So far, search assets have included the C-130 and MH-60 from Coast Guard Air Stations Sitka and Kodiak,» they noted.

Seeking Details!

Mount Crillon, an imposing mountain known for its severe weather conditions and rugged terrain, poses a significant challenge for search teams.

Additionally, weather conditions in the area can change rapidly, with dense fog, strong winds, and precipitation complicating the search efforts.

Meanwhile, authorities have urged anyone with information about the missing flight to contact Alaska state police or the Coast Guard.

Community collaboration is crucial in situations like this, where every minute counts in locating the missing.
