Her unborn baby was healthy and the whole family was anxiously awaiting the new arrival, but a terrifying incident ended their happiness.

Selena’s dreams were shattered when three men ran up to the bus she was traveling in at the intersection of Maple Street and Sargeant Street in Holyoke, Massachusetts

The three men began shooting at each other in the middle of the street. Some of the bullets hit the bus, with tragic consequences.

Selena Santana summarized what she experienced on the afternoon of October 4 on the bus. «My heart hurts. I don’t know the words to express it.»

Selena wrote this in the description of the GoFundMe campaign she started to help with medical expenses and for her baby’s funeral.

Selena Santana’s baby wasn’t the only victim

Selena Santana wasn’t the only person who was injured. «We can confirm that there are multiple victims,» ​​the Holyoke Police Department said on Facebook.

The Hampden County District Attorney’s Office took over the investigation and reported that Santana was in critical condition and her baby had died after birth.

That same day they identified those responsible. One of them, John Luis Sánchez, 30, had to be taken to the hospital along with his victims.

The prosecutor’s office said Sánchez and Alejandro Ramos, 22, will be tried for murder. They are still searching for the third person involved, Kermith D. Álvarez, 28.

Selena Santana’s baby killed: Police ask for the public’s help

The Massachusetts State Police said that since October 11, Álvarez has been on the most wanted list in that state.

«Álvarez is actively avoiding the authorities, the weapon used in this incident has not been recovered and should be considered armed and dangerous,» state police said in a statement.

The fugitive is described as 5’6″ tall and weighing approximately 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has also gone by the alias Kermith Vargas.
