Shifty Shellshock, leader of the rap-rock band Crazy Town, passed away at the age of 49.
The performer of the song Butterfly died from unknown causes, Variety reported this Tuesday.
According to a Los Angeles County coroner, Shellshock died at his residence on Monday, June 24.
Seth Binzer, his real name, met his Crazy Town co-founder, Bret Mazur, in 1992.

According to Efe, Shifty Shellshock and Bret Mazur started making music under the name Brimstone Sluggers.
However, in 1999 they changed their name to Crazy Town and the band added other members.

Among them were Rust Epique, James Bradley Jr. (also known as JBJ), and Doug Miller.
Also, Adam Goldstein (also known as DJ AM), and Antonio Lorenzo “Trouble” Valli.
Additionally, Newsweek contacted the coroner and Shifty Shellshock’s representatives via email for comments.
So far, there has been no response. Official information is expected in the coming hours.
The band rose to fame in the early 2000s. Their biggest hit was the song Butterfly.
This song reached number one on music charts worldwide, including the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Newsweek, Shifty Shellshock struggled for a long time with drug abuse.
He appeared on various reality shows to combat his addiction, including Celebrity Rehab 1 and 2, as well as Sober House 1 and 2.
In 2012, he received a three-year probation sentence for assault and crack possession.
Additionally, in a 2001 interview with Rolling Stone, he admitted to being arrested for shoplifting. He also sold illegal substances.
