Neither of the victims of the shooting nor the detained individual were Walmart employees, but they were believed to be acquainted, according to Roper during a livestreamed press conference.

A heavy police presence was deployed in and around the store located at 805 SC Bypass West, as reported by The US Sun.

The area was swiftly secured, and a command post was set up to coordinate investigative efforts.

The two victims, both male, were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. Authorities have not yet released details regarding their ages or current conditions.

Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile highlighted the cooperation among law enforcement agencies in securing the scene of the shooting and apprehending the suspect, emphasizing the collective effort to restore calm to the community.

So far, no formal charges have been filed against the person in custody as the investigation continues into the motive behind the shooting.
