What Do You Need As an Immigrant to Receive the Stimulus Check?
To be eligible, a single person’s income must not exceed $80,000 annually.
For married couples filing jointly, the limit is $160,000.
Additionally, it is mandatory to possess a valid Social Security number and have legal permission to reside in the United States.
Immigrants interested in claiming this payment have until April 18, 2025, to do so.
They must file their 2020 and 2021 tax returns to apply for the Recovery Rebate Credit.
This credit is valued at $1,400 per person and is also available to immigrants who meet certain requirements.
To be eligible for the Stimulus Check as an immigrant, a person must be married to a resident who holds a Social Security number.
Dependents of residents with Social Security numbers may also qualify. Permanent residents and qualified resident aliens are also eligible to claim this payment.
