A tragedy has cast a shadow over the Mexican entertainment scene, as influencer María Reneé Núñez, known for being the winner of the first season of ‘Survivor México’, has died.

Tania Rincón, host of ‘Hoy’ and close friend of the 34-year-old, confirmed the devastating news on Instagram.

María Reneé had withdrawn from the artistic scene after her victory on the television show, but remained very active on social media.

María Reneé shared photographs of her partner, her family, her friends, and her life on the beach and as an influencer with a love for sports and moments of peace.

Through Instagram, the host of ‘Hoy’ dedicated heart-wrenching words to the memory of her friend upon learning of her death.

«My treasure, my Kermit, my María, now you rest, I think of you with much light and all the peace,» she wrote.

«I hold onto all the joy you gave me with your antics, with your dances, how we burst into laughter when our eyes met while dancing,» she added.

«You told me to move even our sternums. So unique, so creative, so supportive, so very you, beautiful María. You will always live in my heart. Rest in peace María Reneé,» she concluded.

What Happened to María Reneé?

María Reneé Nuñez was 34 years old, originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, and won $100,000 in the first season of Survivor México in 2012.

She studied Graphic Design and had almost 30,000 followers on Instagram, sharing moments of peace and joy with her boyfriend, friends, and family.

Her sister confirmed the death of the 34-year-old woman, though the cause of her death has not yet been disclosed.
