Texas: Moisés López Vaglienty charged with homicide in the micheladas

Moisés López Vaglienty was arrested for

López Vaglienty, 32, was arrested by the Conroe Police Department (CPD, for its acronym in English) for the murder of Cárdenas, 43, in Conroe, a city north of the Houston, Texas metropolitan area.

The incident happened outside the bar Micheladas El Patio, which was the same scene where 48 hours earlier Osman Membreno Tabora (or Membreño Tabora) allegedly stabbed to death Jorge Galeas Jr. in a pitched fight.

Moisés López Vaglienty, like Osman Membreno Tabora, is already detained in the Montgomery County charged with murder, awaiting his first hearing.

According to the arrest warrant for López Vaglienty, consulted by MundoHispánico, the man was as a customer inside the El Patio Micheladas at the Wood Creek Shopping Center at 2017 North Frazier Street, in the early hours of Sunday, October 11.

At one point in the night, Moisés López Vaglienty tried to flirt with a woman who was in the group of friends that accompanied Julio Cárdenas.

Cárdenas, annoyed with the attitude of López Vaglienty, demanded his behavior and both men had a discussion inside the premises and which did not happen to adults.

After the Micheladas El Patio bar closed, the two men left the place and had another brawl in the parking lot, although it did not escalate into a fist fight.

At one point, López Vaglienty pulled out a pistol and in front of all the customers who were leaving the Micheladas El Patio, he shot Cárdenas. It is not detailed in the arrest warrant how many shots he fired. Then he escaped in his car.

After the shooting, witnesses called the CPD emergency number to request assistance for Cárdenas, who was injured at the scene.

However, when the first CPD patrols arrived at the scene, they could no longer do anything for Julio Cárdenas and he was declared dead by gunshots.

During the investigation, detectives from the CPD Homicide Division who arrived at the scene interviewed witnesses and managed to obtain details of the vehicle in which the alleged perpetrator escaped.

Based on the identification of López Vaglienty’s car, the Homicide Division agents went to his home on Silverdale Drive, in Conroe, and arrested him when he arrived at his home at 3:00 in the morning.

Moisés López Vaglienty faces the murder charge that, according to the Texas State Penal Code, It is a serious crime that is punishable by a sentence of five to 99 years in jail for whoever is found responsible after a trial.

The qualifying judge who received the case of Moisés López Vaglienty allowed him to face his process in freedom, under the payment of a bond of 500 thousand dollars.

However, as of this writing, bail had not been paid and the man was still being held in the Montgomery County Jail, awaiting his first hearing.

Osman Membreno Tabora (or Membreño Tabora) was accused of stabbing to death another man, in the middle of a fight in Micheladas El Patio, in less than two days and in the same place.

Membreno Tabora, 19, was arrested by the CPD accused of the murder of Jorge Galeas Jr., 24, whom he allegedly stabbed several times in the chest.

The homicide occurred outside the Micheladas El Patio bar, 2017 North Frazier Street, in the city of Conroe

Membreno Tabora is already being held in the Montgomery County jail charged with the felony of murder in the first degree for the death of Gaeleas Jr., who died in a hospital when doctors tried to save his life.

According to the arrest warrant against Membreno-Tabora, the motive for the crime is only established as «old quarrels» between a group of young Hispanics who met at the Micheladas El Patio.

The documents of the case, consulted by MundoHispánico, reveal that the Homicide Division of the CPD in Texas has an investigation open, so perhaps there could be more arrests for the death of Galeas Jr.

The death of Galeas Jr. occurred in the middle of a tumultuous fight in front of the eyes of dozens of customers at the bar, who helped identify the alleged murderer.

One of the frightened customers was the one who alerted the authorities to what was happening on Friday, October 9, shortly before 11:50 p.m., at the Micheladas El Patio.

According to the arrest warrant against Membreno Tabora, the two groups of young Hispanics, boys and girls, began to argue and insult each other inside the bar. When they left they got beaten up and at one point Membreno Tabora stabbed at least Galeas Jr. and then escaped. The victim died hours later in a hospital in the area and the alleged perpetrator was captured.
