Another tragedy occurred on June 27, about 50 kilometers northwest of the Rio Grande City Station.

The third case took place on June 15, 2025, also in El Paso, Texas.
Three foreign nationals were spotted climbing the international border fence before entering the American Canal, which was partially flooded.
Faced with the situation, CBP agents requested water rescue support from local firefighters.
Two of the migrants were saved, but a third man, identified as Guatemalan, was carried away by the waters and later found floating face down.
Investigations into the Migrant Deaths in Texas and Border Debate
All three deaths are under investigation by CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility.
The agency confirmed that it immediately notified the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General.
In its statement, CBP reiterated that it operates under safety protocols but warned of the dangers of attempting irregular crossings.
These incidents reignite the debate over the migration crisis at the U.S. southern border and the deadly consequences of security measures.
