Time had already named him Person of the Year in 2016, after his first presidential victory.

Sam Jacobs, editor-in-chief of Time, highlighted that this time there was no doubt about who shaped the world the most in 2024.
Since 2015, Trump has been a key figure in American politics and history, according to Jacobs.
The editor recalled Trump’s chaotic tenure that included a pandemic and nationwide protests.

Although many thought his career was over in 2021, his return defied all expectations.
Jacobs noted that 2024 represents Trump’s «apotheosis» after years of controversy.
