Federal agents have intensified door-to-door visits in Blaine, Minnesota, as border czar Tom Homan oversees operations and ensures cooperation with local authorities.

The deployment comes after a second fatal shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis over the weekend.

Against that backdrop, President Donald Trump sent Homan to Minnesota to supervise the administration’s efforts on the ground.

“He’s with the governor and the mayor,” President Trump said Tuesday before a visit to Iowa. “And my understanding is that things are going very well,” he added.

President Trump has positioned Homan as the public face of these policies in the state, reinforcing the administration’s presence following recent incidents in Minneapolis.

Greg Bovino, head of the Border Patrol, is no longer in the city. In his place, Homan is leading both the message and the execution of the federal strategy.

Door-to-door visits raise local tensions

Homan is 64 years old and has participated in federal immigration enforcement initiatives since the 1980s.

He began as a field agent and rose through the ranks of federal enforcement agencies.

During the Obama administration, he served as a senior official at Immigration and Customs Enforcement starting in 2013.

In 2015, he received the Presidential Rank Award.

The honor is granted to “leaders who achieve extraordinary and sustained results.”

In May 2016, Homan testified before Congress, where he faced intense questioning from Republican lawmakers.

The inquiries focused on declining deportation numbers after the administration adjusted its priorities.

At the time, the focus shifted toward individuals with more serious criminal convictions.

After Trump’s electoral victory in 2016, Homan was appointed acting director of ICE.

He was later confirmed in the role permanently by President Trump.

During Trump’s first term, Homan emerged as a staunch defender of strict immigration enforcement.

Now, in Trump’s second term, he holds the position of border czar.

From that role, he has supported key presidential policies.

These include family separation and large-scale deportations.

The strategy expands enforcement targets to include any undocumented individual in the country.

It is not limited solely to convicted criminals.

“This is an unprecedented success. The border is secure,” Homan said last April.

“President Trump is saving lives,” he stated.

“President Trump has proven that nobody does it better than President Trump,” he concluded.

With his presence in Minnesota, Homan has become the public face of federal immigration policy in the state.

The message aims to project control, coordination, and continuity in the administration’s strategy—central elements of Tom Homan being present in Minnesota immigration raids.
