A tragic incident is being investigated at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
On Monday night, two people were found dead in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue aircraft.
The plane had operated flight 1801 from JFK Airport in New York.
The discovery occurred during a routine post-flight maintenance inspection.
JetBlue Responds to the Tragic Discovery on Its Plane

JetBlue confirmed the news through an official statement.
«This is a heartbreaking situation,» the airline stated.
The identities of the victims and the circumstances of the incident have not been disclosed.
Authorities are investigating how they managed to access the landing gear compartment.
The flight took off from New York at 7:30 p.m. and landed in Fort Lauderdale at 10:42 p.m.
The Fort Lauderdale government reported that airport operations have not been affected by this tragedy.
