The agreement was reached after intense negotiations led by mediators from the United States, Egypt, and Qatar.
According to official sources, Hamas confirmed its acceptance of the terms through communication with the mediators in Doha, after more than a year of Israeli offensive in Gaza.
Outgoing President Joe Biden has not publicly commented on the agreement, although he is scheduled to address the nation tonight from the Oval Office.
Israeli media reported that the negotiations were extended due to last-minute disagreements over the Philadelphia Corridor, a 14-kilometer strip on the border between Gaza and Egypt.
Hamas demanded maps of the Israeli withdrawal, which were finally delivered to the mediators.

Egyptian security sources and the Hamas group confirmed that the understanding includes a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops.
In the first phase, forces will withdraw from the city of Rafah, on the border with Egypt, as reported by the news agency EFE.
Subsequently, the demilitarization of the Philadelphia Corridor will be negotiated in the second and third phases.
Meanwhile, Al Qahera News television, linked to Egyptian intelligence, highlighted that the agreement is the result of «hours of hard work by mediators to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza.»
Trump Promises More Achievements
Trump took the opportunity to highlight his leadership and the plans of his future administration.
«We have accomplished so much without even being in the White House yet. Imagine all the wonderful things that will happen when I return to the White House,» he asserted.
The tycoon also hinted that he would work closely with Israel to prevent Gaza from becoming a haven for terrorists again.
This agreement, if officially finalized, will mark a significant milestone in the relations between Israel and Palestine, although the challenges of implementation and pending negotiations with Hamas still pose uncertainties.
