U.S. President Donald Trump was informed in May by Department of Justice officials that his name appears repeatedly in the files related to the case against pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The revelation has caused a stir, especially among his base of supporters.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and her chief assistant, Todd Blanche, informed the president about his presence in the documents, along with other names of public figures.
However, Trump denied last week that Bondi had mentioned his possible connection to Epstein, according to the news agencies Efe and Univision.

During a “routine briefing,” officials said that Bondi and her team explained the files contained “unverified rumors” about individuals who may have had contact with Epstein in the past.
Despite this clarification, names of figures like Trump reportedly appeared in these records, according to sources close to the case.

Epstein’s death in 2019, officially ruled a suicide, was also reiterated by those responsible for the case.
The renewed interest in the case has fueled anger within the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, whose members believe the Trump administration has not been fully transparent about it.
Throughout his campaign, Trump promised that the names of Epstein’s accomplices would be made public, raising high expectations that are now being questioned.
The controversy intensified last week when The Wall Street Journal published a supposed “obscene” letter that Trump allegedly sent to Epstein during the years they maintained a friendship.
Conclusion
The president has denied the authenticity of this letter and has filed a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper.
Despite his efforts to distance himself from Epstein, the case remains an uncomfortable issue for Trump, especially as new details continue to emerge.
This could become another challenge for his reelection campaign as he faces criticism from various sectors.
