The former U.S. President and Republican electoral candidate Donald Trump (2017-2021) defended on Monday his relationship with foreign leaders.
Such as Russian Vladimir Putin, North Korean Kim Jong-un, or Chinese Xi Jinping, stating that getting along with them is «good.»
«Getting along with them is a good thing, not bad,» he told magnate Elon Musk in a live conversation with the owner of X on that platform.
Trump took pride in knowing these leaders: «I know each one of them. And let me tell you, people will say ‘Oh, this is terrible.’ I’m not saying anything good or bad.»

«They are at the top of their game, they are tough, they are smart, and they are going to protect their country. They probably love their country. It’s just a different kind of love, but they are going to protect it,» he noted.

With the arrival of the Democrats to power in January 2021, these leaders, according to Trump, «can’t believe» the turn that the United States has taken.
«Our country is doing very poorly right now. It’s such a different place. We were respected,» emphasized Trump.
«Four years ago, we were respected to the point that when I said ‘don’t buy oil,’ they didn’t,» he added, noting that there was «zero chance» that Israel would have been attacked under his administration.
