  • He Called the Reports “Fake News”
  • Tensions Continue

U.S. President Donald Trump denied on Tuesday that he had initiated any form of contact with Iran to promote peace talks with Israel.

In a message posted on his Truth Social network, he labeled reports portraying him as a mediator as “fake news.”

Amid the ongoing conflict between the two countries.

This was reported by EFE.

Trump Denies Contacting Iran

“I have not contacted Iran for ‘peace talks’ in any way. This is just fake news and totally fabricated!” wrote the president.

Trump added that Iran knows perfectly well how to reach him if it truly wishes to open a dialogue, and criticized Tehran for not accepting a deal that, according to him, “would have saved many lives.”

These statements come after French President Emmanuel Macron suggested that Trump’s sudden departure from the G7 summit was tied to efforts to broker a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

Trump denied that version, stating that his return to Washington “has nothing to do with a ceasefire” and that it is about something “much more important,” without providing further details.

Crisis Context

The conflict between Israel and Iran has now entered its fifth day of intense exchanges, with hundreds reported dead in both countries.

The United States has denied direct involvement in the military operations, although Trump has hinted that the Israeli offensive was triggered by the expiration of a deadline set by his administration for Iran to finalize a new nuclear agreement.

Before leaving Canada, the president warned that residents of Tehran “should evacuate” the capital — a statement that sparked international concern.

Meanwhile, Trump has convened his National Security Council at the White House to address the situation.

What the G7 Says

During the summit held in Kananaskis, G7 leaders issued a joint statement accusing Iran of being “the primary source of instability and terrorism” in the Middle East.

They also called for a resolution to the conflict and a move toward a ceasefire that includes the Gaza Strip.

This was reported by the news agency EFE.
