According to CNN, President Donald Trump’s administration has presented a 21-point peace plan to end the war in Gaza, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff announced on Wednesday.
The announcement came after a meeting at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Trump met with Arab leaders.
Witkoff described the encounter as “very productive” and expressed confidence that “some kind of breakthrough” could be reached in the coming days.
The proposal, formally called the Trump 21-Point Plan for Middle East Peace, was officially presented to Arab representatives.

The meeting took place alongside sessions of the UN General Assembly, where world leaders gathered to address major international crises.
The Gaza conflict dominated multilateral talks, and the U.S. sought to position itself with its own proposal.
According to Witkoff, the plan was designed to address both Israel’s security concerns and those of neighboring Arab states.
“I believe it addresses Israeli concerns, as well as the concerns of all the region’s neighbors,” the envoy explained.
Expectations for Progress on the Gaza Peace Plan

Although Witkoff did not reveal details of the 21 points, he stressed that the document represents a broad negotiation framework.
The U.S. official added that Trump’s team hopes to see tangible progress toward an agreement in the coming days.
“We are hopeful—and I might even say confident—that in the coming days we’ll be able to announce some kind of progress,” he stated at the Concordia Summit in New York.
The optimism contrasted with the silence of Arab leaders, who made no public statements after the meeting.
Current Context of the Gaza Conflict

The announcement comes amid a critical situation in Gaza, where clashes have caused thousands of casualties and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
The Israeli offensive and armed responses from the Strip have kept the region locked in prolonged violence.
Previous international mediation attempts, led by the UN, Egypt, and Qatar, have failed to secure a lasting ceasefire.
The U.S. proposal now joins a long list of peace initiatives that historically have faced significant political and military obstacles.
U.S. Strategy in the Middle East
With this presentation, the Trump administration seeks to project international leadership and strengthen its role in Middle East negotiations.
The Gaza peace plan comes at a moment when Washington is attempting to rebuild alliances in the region after years of diplomatic strain.
Witkoff emphasized that Washington’s approach aims to balance Israeli security with Arab aspirations.
The strategy, he said, is designed to find points of convergence that could lead to regional stability.
Future of the Gaza Peace Plan
So far, no official reactions have been issued by Arab governments that met with Trump.
Analysts warn that the success of any initiative will depend on simultaneous acceptance by both Israel and Palestinian factions.
The lack of detail on the 21 points has generated both anticipation and skepticism about the plan’s viability.
For now, the peace plan remains a framework under discussion, with an announcement expected in the coming days on whether any real progress has been achieved.
