U.S. President Donald Trump announced this Friday that he will revoke his predecessor’s access to classified information.

Joe Biden (2021-2025) will no longer receive daily intelligence briefings from various government agencies.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we will immediately revoke Joe Biden’s security clearances and suspend his daily intelligence briefings.”

Trump made this statement on his platform, Truth Social.

Trump justified his decision by arguing that Biden set a precedent when he blocked Trump from receiving national security details after leaving the White House.

“Biden himself ordered the Intelligence Community (IC) to prevent me from receiving classified information, a courtesy traditionally extended to former presidents,” said the Republican leader.

This announcement comes just days after the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, which concluded that Biden had memory issues during interrogations regarding his handling of classified documents from his vice-presidential tenure, according to EFE.

“The Hur report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and that even at his ‘best moment,’ he could not be trusted with confidential information,” Trump stated, emphasizing that his decision aims to protect national security.
