Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, made strong statements about the security situation in Mexico.
He made his statements and perceptions about the Aztec country known during an interview with Fox News presenter Jesse Watters.
Accompanied by JD Vance, his running mate for the White House, Trump said that the Mexican government is «petrified» of drug cartels.
According to the former president, criminal organizations in Mexico have the power to overthrow the president in «two minutes.»

«The problem is that Mexico is petrified of the cartels, because they could remove the president in two minutes. They are petrified of the cartels,» Trump said.
Despite claiming to have a good relationship with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Trump highlighted relevant issues.
Such as that during his administration he implemented policies such as «Stay in Mexico», which forced asylum seekers in the US to remain in Mexican territory.
Asked about the possibility of carrying out attacks against drug cartels, Trump said he was «absolutely» still considering that option.
He accused these organizations of causing the deaths of 300,000 people a year due to fentanyl crossing the border.
«I’m sure they’re not going to do it right, and then you’re going to see the action begin,» Trump warned during the interview.
«We are going to give Mexico a short period of time to monitor its border. I am sure they will not do it well, so we will see the actions,» he said.
Trump’s running mate JD Vance added that the Mexican government wants Trump to return to the US presidency, even if they cannot express it openly.
«I truly believe that the Mexican government, even if they can’t say it, wants President Trump to act against the cartels,» Vance said.
«Because that poison is also destabilizing his country,» said the Republican candidate’s running mate.
The former US president stressed that without effective intervention, Mexico risks becoming a narco-state.
«Mexicans are not going to be a real country anymore. They’re going to become a narco-state unless we get a handle on this,» Vance said.
Statements by Trump and JD Vance

During the interview, Trump reiterated that the cartels have significant control over Mexico and can dramatically influence its domestic policy.
The former president emphasized the importance of border surveillance and the fight against drug trafficking as priorities on his political agenda.
Trump also recalled that during his term strict measures were implemented to control immigration and drug trafficking from both countries.
Trump and Vance’s stance reflects a critical view of the Mexican government’s ability to confront the problem of drug trafficking. HERE you can watch the interview.
