The President of the United States, Donald Trump, signed an executive order to suspend the entry of migrants through the southern border.

He described this situation as an «invasion» and assured that the measure seeks to protect the country.

The new provision will allow for the immediate repatriation and removal of migrants who illegally cross from Mexico.

On the same day, the House of Representatives approved a bill that reinforces this order.

This document authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of State to take all necessary actions to expeditiously expel migrants.

“Through the exercise of his authority, President Trump has further restricted access to the provisions of immigration laws.

«That would allow any illegal alien involved in an invasion through the southern border of the United States to remain in the country, such as asylum,” reads the executive order.

According to the Trump administration, the decision responds to a supposed inaction during the tenure of Joe Biden, whom they accuse of not protecting Texas from the arrival of millions of illegal migrants.

Close the Border

The executive order comes just two days after Trump declared an emergency on the southern border. This has triggered a massive military deployment.

According to CNN, around 2,200 soldiers are already operating in the region as part of the Joint Task Force North.

Additionally, they will be reinforced with 1,500 additional troops in the coming days, according to El Financiero.

The border mission, led by the United States Northern Command, focuses on tasks such as data entry, detection, and monitoring.

Operation Lonestar, led by the Texas National Guard, is also underway.

Currently, this initiative involves approximately 4,500 personnel, who work in coordination to control the migratory flow at the border.

The debate over President Trump’s measures continues to generate divisions in public opinion.

While some see these actions as necessary to protect national security, others criticize them for violating the human rights of migrants.
