  • Here are the details.

Since his return to the White House, Donald Trump has enacted a flurry of executive orders that, beyond core issues like tariffs, immigration, energy, or gender policies, have extended to unusual areas such as shower water pressure, the use of plastic straws, and the production of pennies.

On January 20, Inauguration Day, Trump issued his first executive order requiring flags on federal buildings to be flown at full-staff.

This reversed the official mourning period declared by Joe Biden in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who died on December 29.

Trump aimed to ensure that “nothing overshadowed his big day,” and extended this provision to future presidential inaugurations.

Among Trump’s Strange Directives Are Changes to Historic Names

That same day, Trump signed another order titled “Restoring Names that Honor American Greatness.”

It includes changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and reinstating the name Mount McKinley for the highest peak in the country.

He even declared February 9 as “Gulf of America Day,” requiring its official use.

And banned Associated Press from an event for failing to comply.

On February 10, Trump repealed the bans on plastic straws.

He claimed that paper alternatives are inefficient, costly, and potentially harmful to health.

According to his order, the environmental argument in favor of paper straws is “undermined” by their plastic packaging.

As reported by EFE.

On April 9, the president rolled back water consumption regulations for showerheads, imposed by previous Democratic administrations.

“I like a good shower to take care of my beautiful hair,” Trump said, criticizing the restrictions that, according to him, forced people to stay longer under the water.

He also ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to review water use limits on toilets, dishwashers, and other appliances.

Marking a rollback of environmental conservation policies.

As part of his campaign against government waste, Trump decided to halt production of one-cent coins.

He did this under the oversight of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), now led by Elon Musk.

“It costs more than two cents to make them. What a waste!”

Trump posted this on his Truth Social platform.

New Commissions for a «Healthier» and «Safer» U.S.

On February 11, Trump launched an order to create a Presidential Commission to Make America Healthy Again.

It aims to improve nutrition and study the causes of disease in the population.

Later, on March 25, he launched another commission to transform Washington D.C. into a “safe, clean, and beautiful” city.

Seeking to preserve order and highlight the historical greatness of its monuments and public spaces.

Trump and His Unusual Executive Orders

On March 27, Trump signed an executive order to “restore truth and sanity” in American history, criticizing what he called a “divisive ideology.”

According to him, this ideology has permeated institutions like the Smithsonian.

The measure seeks to block educational programs that, in his view, portray Western values negatively and rewrite national history.
