The Pentagon announced on Monday that the United States, in collaboration with its partners in Syria, is actively working to ensure that the chemical weapons from the deposed Bashar al-Assad regime are not misused.
Deputy Press Secretary for the Pentagon, Sabrina Singh, emphasized that this issue is a key priority for the government.
“Regarding the issue of chemical weapons, this is something we are focused on,” Singh stated, according to CNN.
She added that the White House is also involved in these efforts, working alongside other regional allies.
