  • Call for voluntary departure
  • Warning of deportations
  • Criticism of sanctuary cities

According to the EFE news agency, the United States government issued a new message aimed at immigrants who remain in the country without valid legal status.

The message was led by Tom Homan, the White House official in charge of border policy, known as the “border czar.”

Homan urged undocumented individuals to leave the country voluntarily before facing forced deportation actions.

He explained that voluntary departure would allow them to attempt a future return through established legal immigration programs.

Message from the U.S.–Mexico border

The statements were made in San Diego, California, in front of the border wall with Mexico, during an official press conference.

Homan was joined by the commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Rodney S. Scott.

Both officials defended the results achieved by the Trump administration in terms of immigration control throughout 2025.

The chosen setting was intended to reinforce a message of firmness and control along the southern border of the United States, underscoring the US immigration warning to undocumented immigrants.

During his remarks, Homan stated that the United States has surpassed 600,000 deportations throughout 2025.

He presented this figure as evidence of tougher immigration policies and increased federal operational capacity.

The official said that those who do not leave voluntarily will be located and deported by immigration authorities.

He also warned that forced deportations could result in legal barriers preventing future reentry into the country.

Criticism of sanctuary cities

Homan delivered strong criticism of jurisdictions known as sanctuary cities, which limit cooperation with federal authorities.

He argued that these policies hinder the work of immigration agents and slow down deportation processes.

The border official described these cities as less efficient and potentially dangerous.

In his view, the lack of local cooperation increases risks during immigration enforcement operations.

White House immigration strategy

The message is part of a broader strategy promoted by the administration of President Donald Trump.

The approach combines public pressure, mass deportations, and direct warnings to undocumented immigrants.

The White House maintains that these measures have strengthened security and reduced irregular border crossings.

With this renewed call, the government reinforces its zero-tolerance policy toward illegal immigration, solidifying the US immigration warning to undocumented immigrants.
