Before telling you the exact date on which the autumn equinox will occur in 2023, we will tell you a little about the event.

This phenomenon occurs due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis with respect to its orbit around the sun.

During the equinox, the Earth’s axis is oriented so that the plane of the equator is perpendicular to the line connecting it to the sun.

This makes the sun’s rays fall almost equally on both hemispheres, making day and night last the same amount of time everywhere.

The autumnal equinox, in addition to being an astronomical phenomenon, is also an important event in many cultures and traditions.

Often celebrated in various ways around the world, in some cultures, it is considered a time of balance and reflection.

While others associate it with different festivals and celebrations related to the harvest.

Some even celebrate the transition to the fall season that the equinox brings.

Here, we are talking about the autumnal equinox from the northern hemisphere.

However, along with the astronomical phenomenon in the north a different type develops in the southern hemisphere.

While autumn begins in September in the north, the south opens its arms to welcome spring.

In the southern hemisphere the autumnal equinox occurs around March 21, marking the beginning of autumn in that part of the world.

According to The Farmer’s Almanac, it has been established when the autumnal equinox will occur in 2023.

It has indicated that the official change of season will take place on Saturday, September 23.

This will be the first day of fall, which lasts until December 22.

That’s when the winter solstice arrives, welcoming in the winter season.

However, while we welcome fall with its cooler temperatures and falling leaves, the southern hemisphere welcomes spring.

The southern hemisphere is preparing to say goodbye to winter, on September 23.

The spring equinox in that part of the planet will occur on the same day.

For that part of the world, autumn is still many months away.
