The United States condemned on Thursday the «campaign of intimidation» against the Venezuelan opposition amid reports about the alleged arrest.
And subsequent release of opposition leader María Corina Machado.
In statements to EFE, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council said:
«United States is closely following the public information regarding the arrest of opposition leader María Corina Machado by (Nicolás) Maduro and his representatives.»

The same source stated that these events are part of «a campaign of intimidation against Venezuela’s democratic opposition.»
