In 2017 María del Rosario Goico Rodríguez, better known as Charytín, supported Iris Chacón after her divorce.

She had divorced actor Junno Faría a few months earlier, so she wasn’t going through the best of times.

According to El Diario, Goico Rodríguez said that she wanted to show Chacón some love.

«How could I not support her, knowing how much it means for someone to be comforted in the soul… We have built such a great relationship that I feel very happy,» she said.

The Puerto Rican bombshell

Originally from Santurce, Puerto Rico, actress, dancer and host Iris Chacón Tapia was born on March 7, 1950.

From a very young age, she excelled in different artistic disciplines, and she studied dance and jazz.

Before turning 20, she made her debut as a dancer on Sylvia de Grasse’s show on Telemundo Channel 2.

But it was in 1969 that she married a man who would change her life forever, as he took charge of promoting her career as a dancer and singer.

Charytín was a virgin when she married

Years after Iris Chacón’s divorce, Charytín married the same man, who was 15 years older than her.

The singer and TV host revealed unexpected details while presenting her book in 2022.

On that occasion, she stated that she was a virgin when she got married, but few know that it was her own father who arranged her union.

All Elín Ortiz had to do was say that he was interested in his daughter for the wedding to take place two months later.

Her husband was understanding

According to Listin Diario, Charytín’s husband had to wait a month and a half to consummate their marriage because she knew nothing about sex.

Her new husband was understanding and supportive. He waited until she was ready. She remembers that her first time didn’t go well.

They had three children — Shalim and the twins Alexander and Sharina. They were married for nearly four decades.

According to Univisión, he died due to complications from Alzheimer’s and diabetes.
