Every four years, citizens select a Republican and Democratic candidate to run against each other for president of the United States.

It is a long and complex process. As mentioned before, it began on Monday, January 15 and will conclude on Tuesday, November 5.

On Tuesday February 27, both Republicans and Democrats will hold presidential primaries in Michigan.

The two candidates who are likely to win the nominations for their parties are Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Donald Trump.

Could Trump be a winning presidential candidate again?

Donald Trump is the most likely presidential candidate to represent the Republican party in the presidential election this year.

He was the 45th president of the United States from January 2017 to January 2021.

The businessman and television personality was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York.

He ran as a Republican in the 2016 election against Democrat Hillary Clinton, and many were shocked when he won.

During his presidency, Trump implemented various controversial immigration and economic policies.

His direct and bombastic style sparked much debate and media attention. His tenure was also marked by two impeachments.

After losing the 2020 election to Joe Biden, Trump continued to wield significant influence in American politics.

His legacy is a subject of intense debate and has left a significant mark on recent U.S. political history.

Joe Biden has a long political career

Current President Joe Biden is likely to represent the Democratic party in this year’s election.

He was born on November 20, 1942, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Before assuming the presidency, he was vice president of the United States under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.

Prior to this, Biden was a senator for Delaware from 1973 to 2009. He has had a long political career.

In the 2020 presidential election, Joe Biden ran as a Democratic candidate and won. He defeated Donald Trump — something that many saw coming.

His victory was confirmed on January 20, 2021, when he was inaugurated as president of the United States in a colorful ceremony.

Biden has advocated for various policies, including weathering the COVID-19 pandemic, the following economic recovery and the fight against climate change.
