History
FC Salzburg was founded in 1933 under the name SV Austria Salzburg and was promoted to the top division in 1953. It wasn’t until the 1990s that they began to see significant success: in 1994, they won their first Austrian Bundesliga title and reached their first (and so far only) European final—the UEFA Cup—losing to Inter Milan.
Today, the club boasts 17 league titles (including ten in a row from 2014 to 2023), nine Austrian Cups, and three Austrian Super Cups. Additionally, it has served as a launching pad for international stars such as Erling Haaland, Sadio Mané, and Dayot Upamecano.
