Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, one of the most popular and successful clubs in Brazil and South America, will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ after securing their spot with a Copa Libertadores title in 2022.

With a star-studded squad and a fanbase of nearly 50 million, Flamengo enters the tournament as one of the top contenders.

How They Qualified

Flamengo earned their place in the competition by winning their third Copa Libertadores title in 2022, defeating Atlético Paranaense in the final. Their consistent performance in continental tournaments from 2021 to 2024 was also instrumental in their qualification.

Flamengo History and Achievements

Founded in 1895 originally as a rowing club, Flamengo rose to football prominence in the 1980s.

With legendary players like Zico, Júnior, and Leandro, the club dominated Brazilian and South American football, winning multiple national and continental titles. In 1981, Flamengo won both the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup, defeating Liverpool in a historic match.

Legendary Players:

Zizinho: The first football idol of Pelé and a foundational figure in Flamengo’s history.

Zico: Known as the “Galinho de Quintino,” he was a technical and emotional leader who played a key role in the club’s golden era.
