After multiple store closures across the country, it has been announced that another Forever 21 is closing at end of this month.

The popular clothing store has confirmed the closure of another branch following its bankruptcy filing.

This California location will be permanently shuttered.

Forever 21 is closing in California

Forever 21, which has been a prominent part of the American retail scene for nearly 40 years, faced financial difficulties in 2019 when it filed for bankruptcy.

At that time, it was announced that up to 178 stores in the United States could close as part of restructuring efforts.

Retail industry experts have pointed out that one of Forever 21’s weaknesses has been its inability to effectively expand into markets outside of the United States.

This has led to a series of store closures not only for Forever 21 but also for other major retail chains like Macy’s and Walgreens, which are shuttering hundreds of stores nationwide.

Forever 21 seeks to reinvent itself

Amidst these closures and financial challenges, Linda Chang, daughter of the founders of Forever 21, highlighted one of the store’s issues.

According to The U.S. Sun, she acknowledged that the company lost sight of its customers’ needs while attempting global expansion.

However, with its recent emergence from bankruptcy in February 2020 after being acquired by Authentic Brands Group and other companies, there is hope that Forever 21 will find a new direction.

Furthermore, it is expected that the popular clothing store will regain its position in the retail market.

Store closures have been happening around the country

In recent months, it has been announced that Forever 21 stores in various cities across the United States are also closing.

For instance, in Kansas City, three stores are having ongoing liquidation sales and reduced prices to attract buyers before they close.

The situation worsens with the closure of the store at the Destiny USA mall in Syracuse, New York, which is also scheduled for March 31.

This store, which opened in 2000 and underwent renovations in 2019, is part of Forever 21’s restructuring plan following its bankruptcy filing.

Another Forever 21 is closing in California

It has now been announced that a Forever 21 store located in the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville, California, is about to close its doors after over a decade.

This adds to a series of store closures across the United States, raising concerns among the brand’s fans.

The Roseville store, which has been open for 15 years, will officially close on March 31.

This comes in the context of Forever 21’s bankruptcy filling a few years ago.

Liquidations sales are going on

The retail chain has been facing financial challenges, leading to the closure of several locations across the country.

In the case of Roseville, the Forever 21 store is situated in a mall that also houses other well-known retail chains such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, JCPenney and Abercrombie & Fitch.

According to The U.S. Sun, the store is now having a major liquidation sale.

Prices have been slashed up to 50% to clear out the remaining inventory.
