Carter will be honored with a state funeral

President Biden highlighted Carter’s moral clarity, his optimism and courage.

«He saved and transformed lives throughout the universe,» said Biden, who encouraged new generations to study the life of the former president.

In recognition of his legacy, Biden announced that Carter will be honored with a state funeral in Washington, a gesture reserved for the country’s most iconic leaders.

For his part, Donald Trump, president-elect of the United States, also dedicated words of respect and admiration to the former Democratic president.

Through a message published on Truth Social, Trump mourned the loss and sent his condolences to the Carter family.
