During the Latin Summit held in Doral, Florida, Mexican producer Eduardo Verástegui surprised Republican candidate Donald Trump by gifting him a banner of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Verástegui, known for his defense of conservative values, took the opportunity to show his support for Trump’s candidacy in the upcoming U.S. presidential elections.

The presentation of the Virgin’s image symbolizes a gesture of endorsement, highlighting the influence that religious and cultural themes have on the Latino electorate.

At the event, which garnered attention from numerous media outlets and attendees, Verástegui emphasized the importance of traditional values. His backing of Trump further cements his role as a conservative leader within the Latino community.

However, McDonald’s Corp. clarified that it does not endorse any specific candidate.

The Chicago-based burger chain stated that the event was held after restaurant owner Derek Giacomantonio requested to host Donald Trump’s visit.

According to a statement cited by Associated Press, the company emphasized:

«McDonald’s does not endorse political candidates,» reiterating that its restaurants are open to all, regardless of political affiliation.

The same statement mentioned that the company has also extended invitations to Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

However, as of now, Harris’s campaign has not responded to the invitation.

McDonald’s stressed that its policy is to remain neutral, welcoming both «reds and blues» alike, keeping its doors open to all candidates.

These types of events highlight how figures like Donald Trump and Kamala Harris seek to attract voters through unique activities.
