Emma Lucía Bandala Herrera and Santiago Rodríguez Navarro were found dead after nearly two months of searching.
The couple disappeared in April while trying to sell their truck in Poza Rica, Veracruz, Mexico.
Their disappearance went viral thanks to the efforts of their daughter, who spread the search on social media and through the press.
The truck was found at a hotel in Poza Rica on May 7, but there was no sign of them.
Hispanic Couple Found Dead

On May 25, Rebeca Rodríguez, the eldest daughter, posted a video pleading with the criminals to return her parents.
Her desperation resonated with the community and increased pressure on the authorities.

The Governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, acknowledged progress in the case but left the details to prosecutor Verónica Hernández Giadans.
Finally, the bodies were found in a clandestine grave in Coatzintla following a search warrant.
The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) reported on May 16 about the search for he Hispanic couple in the locality of Palma Sola, Coatzintla.
The efforts focused on the possible location of clandestine graves, and indeed human remains were found.
The identification of the bodies was confirmed by the Prosecutor’s Office after several studies.
The family of Emma and Santiago was notified of the dreadful news, although the bodies have not yet been released.
