It didn’t take long for farewell messages for this beloved Televisa sports commentator to emerge online.
However, to this day, many do not know how Paco Villa died shortly after turning 54 in December.

The number of messages fans and colleagues shared after Paco Villa’s death was impressive.
Among the personalities who dedicated a few words to him was sports journalist José Ramón Fernández.
«I deeply regret the death of my colleague Paco Villa, an excellent commentator, passionate about Cruz Azul… He was very pleasant and a good man,» he said.
Carlos Hermosillo, Rafa Márquez, Toño de Valdés, and Javier Alarcón also bid farewell to the sports commentator.
How did Paco Villa die?

According to El País, Paco Villa died after a two-year battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.
He was diagnosed with the disease during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at a hospital in Doha.
«I want to tell you that I’m doing well. I feel stronger every day,» he said in a video shared last year.
Journalist Javier Alarcón confirmed that Paco died from pancreatic cancer.
