On Saturday night, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez won a resounding victory over Jaime Munguía at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Now, it is revealed that the undisputed 168-pound champion not only took the fight via unanimous decision, but also earned a significant prize purse.

Canelo Álvarez defeats Jaime Munguía

The eyes of Sin City were focused on the fight between these two Mexican boxers in the days prior to the event.
And once Saturday night arrived, thousands were thrilled to see the outcome of the fight.
After twelve rounds of intense action, the judges gave their verdict in Canelo’s favor, extending his impressive winning record to 61.
Although he did not achieve the expected knockout that he had anticipated during the weigh-in, the crowd left the iconic venue pleased.
How much Canelo earned for the fight

Esto reported that Canelo had already secured a purse of $35 million before the fight.
This is considerably more than what he was paid for his fight in September of last year, where he won around $18 million after beating Jermell Charlo.
In contrast, Jaime Munguía, the brave challenger of the night took home much less than Canelo.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, it is estimated that the Tijuana boxer was paid approximately $10 million to face Canelo on this historic night.
